It may be far away from the US and Europe, however, culturally it's the closest. As a great deal of the population in the area are originally derived from British and European countries, that's hardly surprising. Recently, population influxes from South East Asian countries have meant that Australia certainly is a real melting pot and it would seem that a person of any race would find an area comfortable to him/her.
